Location: 100% On-site in Vancouver, WA (option to transition to the Tigard office after completing training in Vancouver)

Building Automation Control Draftsman (AutoCAD Specialist)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Building Automation Control Draftsman (AutoCAD Specialist) to join their team. This role focuses on creating and modifying technical drawings and documentation for building automation systems (BAS), primarily for school district projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers, ensuring precision and compliance throughout the drafting process.
This role is fully onsite in Vancouver, WA with the option to transition to the Tigard office long-term after completing training in Vancouver.
Building Automation Control Draftsman Responsibilities:
- Develop and revise detailed control system drawings for building automation systems (BAS), primarily focusing on mechanical applications.
- Update project documentation, including operation, maintenance, and surveillance (OMS) guides, service and maintenance manuals, and warranty letters.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and address revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) to maintain and modify documentation.
- Adhere to industry standards and company guidelines to deliver high-quality drawings and final project packages.
- Conduct rare site visits, if required, to gather or confirm project details.
- Maintain organized documentation and track project revisions meticulously.
Building Automation Control Draftsman Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a related field (mechanical, electrical, or building automation) or equivalent professional experience.
- 2-5 years of CAD drafting/design experience in building automation systems (BAS) or controls-related roles; preference for candidates with mechanical over electrical expertise.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with Revit is a plus.
- Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and their integration into BAS.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle complex revisions and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated stability, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset; this role requires a team player with a strong work ethic.
